
Getting Your Sidel Matrix Heating Just Right
Here is the problem with swapping out IR lamps in a Sidel Matrix or Krones system: the temperature curve usually shifts. If the heat density isn’t a perfect match for the original specs, you end up with uneven preheating. And once that happens, you’re looking at bottles with weird wall thickness. It’s a headache you just don’t need. That’s why we built our 400V IR radiators. We wanted to kill that “drift” entirely. The trick is in the 400V setup. Most lamps run on lower voltages, but the Sidel Matrix needs 400V to hit the right wattage in such a small space. We’ve tuned our filaments to match the exact ohms of the original gear. What does that actually mean for you? It means when your PLC sends the signal, the lamp hits the target temperature in the exact same millisecond window as the factory part. No lag, no guessing. We use shortwave infrared, too. It punches through the PET wall way faster than medium-wave. You can keep your line speeds cranked up without worrying about scorching the outside of the preform. No tinkering required. These are true drop-in replacements. We kept the physical dimensions and the connectors identical to the Krones and Sidel originals. You won’t have to mess with your brackets or rewire your cabinet just to get them working. We also use high-purity quartz glass with a specific coating that pushes the heat inward. It stops energy from leaking and keeps the inside of your oven from turning into a sauna. One quick warning, though. High heat density is great, but it’s tough on equipment. A 400V tube puts a lot of stress on the lamp ends. If your cooling fans are clogged or the airflow is blocked, these lamps will burn out way faster than they should. Just keep your ventilation clean, and they’ll last. The best part? You get a 1:1 match. You don’t have to spend hours tuning the oven. Just wire them up and get back to work.
