It’s made for Husky HyPET lines that run at full speed, and its whole job is simple: get that PET preform hot—fast. The heat has to be intense and focused, hitting the preform exactly where it needs to be so the material stretches right, every single time. When the machine is moving at high RPM, the heating element can’t fall behind. This one keeps up.
The Nitty-Gritty
Here’s the setup: it runs on 400V and pulls 2500W, all packed into a tidy 300mm tube. That wasn’t by accident. The high voltage lets us push a lot of current through a short element, so you get serious heat density right where it matters. And the 300mm length? It’s matched to the preform heating zone footprint, so it’s a straight swap. No re-layout. No headache.
What It’s Made Of
Inside that quartz tube, we use a shortwave halogen element because it responds quickly and holds steady. The halogen cycle keeps the filament clean, which helps the temperature stay consistent—even on those long, grind-it-out production runs. The tube itself is coated to handle thermal stress and resist contamination, so it doesn’t give up the ghost when dust or oil mist is part of the daily routine on the shop floor. And the connector is R7s—a straightforward two-pin design. Wire it up, lock it in, and it stays put. No fuss. No loose contacts.
Why It Works on the Line
On Husky HyPET systems, the preform needs heat that goes deep and stays even. If it doesn’t, you get weak spots and blow failures. The Contiform 3 lamp delivers high-penetration heat that strikes the preform wall directly, so you don’t need long soak times. Cycle times stay high. But let’s be real—there’s a trade-off. Squeezing 2500W into a 300mm tube means you get heat in the zone fast. That also means your machine’s cooling system has to be able to handle the extra heat. If the ambient temperature climbs, the lamp will still do its job, but the surrounding components will feel the pressure. For the people running the machines, that translates into fewer changeovers, heating that stays stable even at speed, and a lamp that takes the daily beating and keeps on running.
